Movies have always been part of our family DNA. Maybe, for me, the fascination didn't even begin when I was a little kid, but a generation earlier, when my dad would watch John Wayne and Star Trek with his own dad, or when my mom saw The Poseidon Adventure five times in a row at the theater. Our best family conversations have always circled the intricate plots and moral choices of the characters in whatever we'd just watched.
When my wife first got to know me, she said I was a man filled with endless movie quotes. I had one for every situation. I grew up making homemade action films with my friends, and because my parents worked for the airlines, we flew out to L.A. often, sometimes just to walk the studio lots, catch the stars at premieres, and see how those iconic stories were made.
So it's no surprise I caught the acting bug, with my parents' encouragement every step of the way. Together, we made short films I could act in, just to build footage for my demo reels. What shocked us was when those films started getting into festivals and winning awards. My parents became my partners. We have historically worn a ton of hats and loved it. Without their support, drive, dedication, and vision, a single project would not exist.
It's also no surprise that I married an artist, one with more talent than I could hold in my pinky finger. Someone who would join this filmmaking family and elevate every project with everything she has. Or that my best friend from childhood, the one I made those action movies with would go on to provide our music and sound in the most beautiful ways. Or that our family dog, Marty would become the mascot.
We are Hallford Entertainment: a family of filmmakers.
What we create, and who we partner with, always has and always will stem from the cornerstone of our own family and its values. We're not afraid of risks, adventures, hard questions, or new ideas. We simply want to create the things we ourselves want to see and to reflect, in our art, the beauty we've experienced in our own lives.
